What Homeowners Say About Working With Us
There is a certain kind of stress that comes with discovering a problem underneath your manufactured home.
You may not know how long it has been there, how serious it might be, or what needs to be done to fix it. You may find yourself wondering who to call, whether someone will actually come out to your area, and whether the person you hire will understand the unique needs of a manufactured home.
And once you finally decide to make that call, there is a whole new set of questions. Will someone return your call? Will they explain what they find? Will the estimate make sense? Will the work be done properly? Will you know what is happening while the work is being completed?
Those are the kinds of concerns that can make a home repair feel much more stressful than it needs to be.
At Desert Mobile Home Services, we know we can tell you about our services, our process, and the work we do. But we think there is something more meaningful about hearing from the homeowners and professionals who have actually worked with us.
So, instead of simply telling you what we do, we wanted to share some of what our customers have experienced.
“I Don't Think ‘Horrified’ Covers It”
If you have ever discovered something unexpected underneath your home, you probably understand why one of our newest customers described their first reaction this way:
“I don't think ‘horrified’ covers it.”
The homeowners in Yucca, Arizona, had discovered a packrat midden underneath their manufactured home. Their insulation was hanging down, the crawlspace had rat droppings throughout it, and the situation had become much more than they originally expected.
If you found something like that underneath your own home, you might have the same reaction. You might also wonder whether you can handle it yourself.
That's what this homeowner's husband initially tried to do. He started tackling the problem himself before realizing that the condition underneath the home was beyond what they could reasonably take on as a DIY project.
Then they had another concern: Would anyone even come out to Yucca?
When your home is in a remote area, finding someone willing and able to travel to you can be a concern of its own. According to the customer's review, Desert Mobile Home Services returned their call quickly, and the office made scheduling “refreshingly easy.”
The crew was able to get to the property and complete the work within a couple of weeks, even while dealing with the August and September Arizona heat.
The project involved removing the infested material and hauling it away, replacing the insulation and vapor barrier, and covering the pipe entrances with wire mesh. Because the homeowners were out of town, the team also sent photos throughout the project so they could see what was happening underneath their home.
That detail is easy to overlook, but imagine being hundreds of miles away while someone is working underneath your house. You can't simply walk outside and see what has been removed, what has been repaired, or what the finished crawlspace looks like.
The photos gave them a way to follow along.
After the work was completed, Miguel also walked them through the finished work from top to bottom.
The homeowner said they had been dreading the project, but “DMHS made it easy.” They also said they wouldn't hesitate to use the company again.
Going from “horrified” to feeling like the project was manageable is exactly the kind of customer experience we want to create.
When You Have a Deadline, Every Day Matters
Your situation may not involve a packrat-infested crawlspace. Maybe your concern is a repair that needs to be completed before a home closes.
That was the situation for another recent customer who hired DMHS for foundation repairs on a manufactured home in Arizona.
When you're working toward a closing date, you don't always have the luxury of waiting weeks to figure things out. A repair that might otherwise feel manageable can become much more stressful when buyers, sellers, agents, lenders, and other people are all waiting for the work to be completed.
In the customer's August 18 review, they explained that the repairs were completed quickly, which helped tremendously with their tight closing timeline. They had also contacted other companies and said DMHS's price beat the other competitors they had reached out to.
But their review wasn't just about price.
They also mentioned fair pricing, quality work, and quick turnaround.
If you're trying to get a manufactured home ready for a closing, those things can matter just as much as the repair itself. You need to know that the work is moving forward and that the company understands the importance of the timeline.
Sometimes You Just Need Someone Who Can Work With Your Schedule
Not every customer has a long story to tell, and sometimes a short review says exactly what mattered to them.
One recent customer explained:
“I needed the work done quickly to meet a deadline and they were able to accommodate my schedule.”
If you've ever had a repair hanging over your head because of a deadline, you know how valuable that can be.
You may have a home inspection coming up. You may be preparing for a closing. You may have another contractor waiting on one repair before they can continue their work. Or maybe you simply don't want a problem sitting underneath your home any longer than necessary.
In those situations, you want to know when someone can come out, what needs to happen, and whether the work can fit into the timeframe you're dealing with.
It doesn't always need to be complicated.
Sometimes you just need someone to listen, understand the situation, and help you get it scheduled.
Your Problem May Be Different, But Your Questions Are Probably Similar
If you look at these customer experiences, the actual problems are very different.
One homeowner was dealing with packrats, contaminated insulation, and a damaged vapor barrier. Another needed foundation repairs completed before a closing. Another needed work completed around a specific deadline.
But if you were in their position, you might have many of the same questions.
Will someone call me back?
Will they understand manufactured homes?
Will they actually come to my area?
Will someone explain what is wrong?
Will I know what is happening while the work is being done?
Can the work be completed within the timeframe I need?
Those questions are completely understandable.
When something is wrong with your home, you're not just looking for someone who knows how to perform a repair. You want to feel like you're dealing with someone who understands why the repair matters to you.
The Work Matters, But So Does How You Get There
Of course, the goal is to get the repair done properly. But the experience leading up to that finished repair matters too.
Think about what you experience as a homeowner. You make the call, explain what you've noticed, schedule an inspection or repair, receive an estimate, wait for the work, and then finally get to see the finished result.
At every one of those steps, communication can make the experience easier or harder.
That's especially true when much of the work is happening underneath your home. You may not be able to see the supports, vapor barrier, insulation, tie-downs, ductwork, or other components while the work is taking place.
For the Yucca homeowners, being able to receive photos was an important part of the experience because they were out of town. They could see the condition underneath the home, follow the progress, and see what the finished work looked like.
When you can't physically be there, those updates can make you feel a lot less disconnected from your own property.
You Don't Have to Know What's Wrong Before You Call
One of the biggest concerns homeowners have is not knowing what service they actually need.
Maybe you've noticed that your floor doesn't feel quite right, but you don't know whether the home needs releveling or support adjustments.
Maybe you've seen damaged plastic underneath the home, but you aren't sure whether the vapor barrier needs to be repaired or completely replaced.
Maybe you are concerned about your tie-downs, skirting, insulation, supports, or something else in the crawlspace.
You don't need to know the technical answer before you reach out.
That's part of why an inspection or professional evaluation can be helpful. Instead of trying to diagnose everything yourself, you can have someone look at the condition of the home, document what they find, and explain what may need attention.
The goal is not to make you feel like you need to know everything about manufactured home repairs.
The goal is to help you understand your home.
Every Home—and Every Customer—Is Different
There isn't one typical mobile home repair.
Your home may be in Phoenix, Tucson, Yucca, or another Arizona community. It may be decades old or relatively new. You may have a single issue that needs attention, or you may discover several things that have been developing over time.
And you may be calling because you are worried, because you're working toward a deadline, because you're preparing to sell, or simply because something doesn't look right.
That's why we don't expect every customer to come to us with the same questions or the same needs.
What matters is taking the time to understand the situation and figure out what comes next.
What We Hear When We Read Our Customers' Reviews
When you see a five-star review, it's easy to focus on the rating.
But when you actually read what people wrote, the details tell a much bigger story.
Our customers have talked about getting a quick response, having an easier time scheduling, getting work completed before a deadline, receiving photos during the project, and being happy with the quality of the finished work.
And sometimes, their words tell you more than any advertisement could.
A homeowner who begins a project thinking, “I don't think horrified covers it,” and ends by saying “DMHS made it easy” tells a very human story.
A customer who needed foundation repairs before a closing tells you that timing mattered.
A homeowner who simply needed work done quickly tells you that being able to accommodate a schedule mattered to them.
These aren't all the same experiences, but they show something important: homeowners care about more than the final repair.
They care about how they are treated along the way.
When You Need Help With Your Manufactured Home
Maybe you're reading this because you've already noticed a problem.
Maybe there's something hanging down underneath your home. Maybe your vapor barrier is damaged, your insulation has shifted, your supports need attention, or your home doesn't feel quite level anymore. You might have concerns about your tie-downs, skirting, crawlspace, roof, or another part of the property.
Or maybe you're not even sure what you're looking at.
That's okay.
You don't have to diagnose the problem yourself before reaching out. You can simply tell us what you've noticed and let us help you understand what may need attention.
